Klebsiella pneumoniae: adaptive immune landscapes and vaccine horizons
Trends Immunol. 2023 Sep 11:S1471-4906(23)00159-X. doi: 10.1016/j.it.2023.08.005. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTKlebsiella pneumoniae is among the most common antibiotic-resistant pathogens causing nosocomial infections. Additionally, it is a leading cause of neonatal sepsis and childhood mortality across the globe. Despite its clinical importance, we are only beginning to understand how the mammalian adaptive immune system responds to this pathogen. Further, many studies investigating potential K. pneumoniae vaccine candidates or alternative therapies have been launched in recent years. Here, we review the current state o...

Educational interventions for health professionals managing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in primary care
CONCLUSIONS: The evidence of efficacy was equivocal for educational interventions for health professionals in primary care on the proportion of COPD diagnoses confirmed with spirometry, the proportion of patients with COPD who participate in pulmonary rehabilitation, and the proportion of patients prescribed guideline-recommended COPD respiratory medications. Educational interventions for health professionals may improve influenza vaccination rates among patients with COPD and patient satisfaction with care. The quality of evidence for most outcomes was low or very low due to heterogeneity and methodological limitations of...

The Potentially Recommended Pharmacotherapy for COVID-19.
Conclusions: There have been intensive attempts to explore drug therapy for the prophylaxis and treatment of SARS-CoV-2 infection during this COVID-19 pandemic. Several drugs have been identified which including remdesivir, two antimalarials (chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine) and immunosuppressive agents. The effects of most drug interventions are currently highly uncertain and several drugs and vaccines are under trail for the effective treatment of COVID-19 virus, until an effective treatment will discover social distancing and physical hygiene should be practiced strictly. COVID-19: A Worldwide, Zoonotic, Pandemic Outbreak.
Conclusions: First-level treatments include repurposing antivirals and antimalarials, and plasma infusion should help, but development of existing or new molecules into vaccines will take time. The unpredictable trajectory of this outbreak demands careful surveillance to monitor the situation, draw strategies, implement control measures, and create proper ethical laws and medical guidelines.
